Events Programme 2012
January: Thursday 26th. Annual General Meeting. United Arts Club at 8.00pm Wine and Canapés following meeting. {note Thursday 26th}
February: Friday 24th. Lecture by Prize-winning Nottinghamshire Poet Clive Brooks. “Byron in the Twenty-First Century”. United Arts Club. Lecture at 8.00pm. All Welcome.
February 27th: House of Lords buffet dinner celebrating the 200th anniversary of Byron’s first speech to the house in 1812. For further details ring any member of committee.
March: Saturday 24th: The Patrick Kavanagh Spring Lunch, Members will read their favourite Kavanagh poem following lunch. United Arts Club at 1.00pm. Booking Essential.
April: Friday 27th: Lecture by Chairman of Irish Byron Society, Allan Gregory entitled “Satire in the poetry of Byron and Juvenal” United Arts Club at 8.00pm. Wine and Canapés following lecture.
May: Friday 25th: Lecture by President of the Irish Byron Society, poet, Environmentalist and scholar, Rosemarie Rowley entitled “Byron and Nature”. United Arts Club at 8.00pm.
June: Saturday 9th: Bloomsday Literary Lunch at United Arts Club at 1.00pm. Booking Essential
